15 minutes of fame

I sent those snow photos to WOOD TV 8 and FOX news. Both networks showed the pictures and announced they were from the Bale family in Fennville! How exciting! I never dreamed they would actually be on TV!! I think it will stick around for awhile, It's going to Arctic cold the end of the week and Sat. and Sun there is a 90% chance of snow both days. I have to have surgery on Friday, so I won't be out and about in it!

Pictures of snow

And the snow continues...

Snow day

Well, Doug got up this morning to go to work... He first woke me up to tell me there is no school... Then he walked out and opened the garage door, and came back in to say he would be taking my Jeep to work... the snow was up to his knees... Now if it was up to my knees, I wouldn't think anything of it,,, but his knees are farther off the ground than mine! So apparently I'm stranded. I saw a pick-up truck drive down the road this morning and he was pushing snow with his bumper. More snow and Arctic cold air is still on the way!! Winter was late, lets hope is doesn't linger into the spring!!!

Weight Watchers week 2

Well, I was lazy this past week, Didn't really feel up to par... hectic schedule with Basketball practices, camps, games... work... yes, I can make up a lot of excuses on why I avoided my treadmill .. I still managed to lose 1/4 lb. better than nothing and way better than gaining, so in 2 weeks, I am down 3 lbs. I will be a good girl and get on my treadmill more this week, that'll help!

Weight Watchers update

I weighed in this morning. I lost 2-3/4 lbs. I guess all that torture and hard work paid off! I will keep at it another week. I have an ultimate goal of being to my goal weight by April 2008. That is when we go on our Family vacation to Florida with another family. I'd like to be able to keep up with everyone!

snow day

Or should I say Ice day... So far there are 161 school closings. It is 28 degrees and it's been rainy.. so there is a nice layer of ice. Looks like it's going to be snowy and in the 20's through the next 8 days. Winter is actually here. This system is clearing out for the day though, so at least we won't get any more ice. Good day to not have school. Ryan has a nasty cold.

Winter wants to come back

Well, we've had a little snow, nothing significant. Artic air is supposed to show up with more snow later this week, or near the weekend.
The kids went back to school on Monday and I went back to work also. I sort of miss them and miss being home, although I am off today since my boss went to a seminar in Ann Arbor.
At the advice of my Dr. ( actually he gave me no choice) I am on the quest to lose weight, eat healthy and exersice... I again... yes again, joined Weight Watchers. ( registration was free) I have to keep a journal of walking on my treadmill and take it to my next Dr. Appt to weigh in, which is in early March ( I actually moved it back 2 months since I hadn't started yet) I know the Dr. is right, I can't live like this, I have to get healthy if I expect to see grandchildren some day. I am motivated and I took before pictures of myself.... which after looking at them, I will refer back to them often through this process. I need to lose at least 40 lbs. I need to be heart healthy also! Wish me luck on my journey. I'll keep you posted on my progress ... I thrive on encouragement ;-)

Farewell Mr. President

Well, it's been a huge story week here in West Michigan. President Ford was welcomed home, and laid to rest in Grand Rapids on the grounds of his Presidential museum. My family was of 58,000 people that went to pay their respects while he lay in repose in the museum. It was a 5 hour process and we got home at 1:30am. The kids did great! Brad wore his scout uniform. Ryan got a little antsy and really tired around 11pm.. but he survived another hour in line. It was worth it! Brad slept until 1:00 this afternoon... Ryan I believe got up around 10 or so. It felt good to pay my respects and to say good-bye. I feel for his family, I know how hard it is to lose someone you love.
