Busy week

Wow, what a whirlwind of a week. My boss came back from Atlanta on Sunday, so back to work on Monday. His mom passed away about 2am Saturday morning, he and his brother were with her. So besides working, I had baseball on Monday and Wednesday nights, worked late Tuesday night, then went grocery shopping, then Thursday I was at the school all morning making pith helmets for Kindergarten and then had to go to Holland to get some things for the Teacher appreciation luncheon on Friday and for Doug and Brad's boy scout camp out this weekend, near Baldwin. I also had a PTO meeting Thursday night at 6:30 and then a Band meeting at 7pm. Needless to say, Bradley is signed up for band and we filled out the rental agreement and put a deposit down on a Clarinet.... Then Friday I put on the Teacher Appreciation luncheon, it was a week late due to Field trips ect. That went well, we had plenty of food! I also gave all the teachers $5 Gift certificates to Cranes. it didn't seem like much, but it was still a token of our appreciation. They also loved the lunch, I got a lot of comments about them being thankful for not having to think about packing a lunch when they got up. I hear so many things from people, complaining that teachers get to much, ie.. benefits, vacations ect. I personally don't' think they get paid enough, people don't realize that teachers put a lot of their personal time and money into their jobs... even when they are off in the summer or during the school year, they are still thinking about what to do next...... They work very hard.. it is not a job for the weak! People with that type of attitude of thinking they have a "gravy" job, needs to go volunteer in a school and just see what it takes! Where would we be without Teachers?!! Thank you for all that you do!

Ryan has his friend Zachary "sleeping the night" tonight, they are very excited, we'll see how it goes, this is Zachary's first time to stay the night somewhere without his brother, lets hope it goes well!! ;-)

I talked to my sister, she has met a guy. He's 47 divorced has a 25 year old son and 2 grand kids ages 1 & 2. They met for lunch today and have talked on the phone before the meeting every day since Wednesday. She's very excited, apparently they both feel like they've known each other for years. I'm really happy for her! I hope things go well, and he's not a serial killer!!!

UGH!!

Well, I decided to keep Ryan home from school today, He was wheezing, coughing and just felt terrible. I asked Doug which shift he was going to take.. I'll be off a week in May so I really can't afford to be off now... how selfish does that sound from a Mother with a kiddo that feels icky.. So anyway, Doug suggested I call his mother, so I did, and she came to sit with Ryan. I said if he'd had a fever or something I'd stay with him, but it was obviously just allergies. So she got here by 9am. I stopped in on my way to lunch to check on him and guess what.... He had just thrown up.... What happened to just allergies?? Mimi was happy to stay, and I was happy to let her! He did that a few more times. As of right now, he seems to be doing okay , he's drawing and coloring and making things with paper, tape and scissors lets hope this keeps up!! I will still keep him home tomorrow, and I'll be with him.
I hope everyone else is well!

Hire out mowing

I mentioned to Doug last night, that it may be cheaper to hire out mowing rather than the kids doing it... 1) Missed 1-1/2 hrs of work $30 2) Benedryl and Sudafed plus allergy prescription at the drug store $ $23 3) gas for mowers $15 Don't you think someone could of mowed it for less than $58? what is the going rate for mowing... Laura has the right idea, being in Arizona where there isn't so much grass.... although she does have it where she lives, but it's still less than here! ;-)

Bradley had a baseball game last night in Hamilton. Our team was in the lead, Brad had a base hit. They called the game with 8 minutes to go , due to darkness.... crazy! So now we have to get together to play the last 8 minutes of the game! Ryan has practice Wednesday night and Bradley has a game Friday night.. They both have team pictures on Saturday and Bradley and Doug are going on a Boy Scout camp out Friday thru Sunday, thankfully they aren't going very far so everyone can make it back for pictures! Our schedules only get a little more crazy thru mid June. It's really hard to believe the school year is coming to a close, and yet there is SO much to do before then. I really do like when Doug and Brad go on their camp outs, Ryan and I can hang out for some one on one time, and he's so sweet when there's no sibling rivalry!!
